3 Easy Summer DIY Décor Projects to Brighten Your Home!
Are you ready for summer? I’m getting there! We recently had our A/C inspected (no issues!), and I brought out all our citronella candles, bug repellents, and bug zapper lights. I think we’re as ready as we can be!
Even though I’m not too fond of the summertime heat or bugs, I enjoy the season’s bright colors. These yellows, greens, reds, and even blues are so cheerful and uplifting. I love creating décor projects that bring happy and vibrant summer elements from the outdoors to the inside!
Today, I wanted to share three of my favorite summer décor projects. I think you’ll like them! They’re all super easy to put together (less than 15 minutes), and they all have pops of cheerful summer color that will really liven up your home! I hope you enjoy making these as much as I did!
Decor Project #1: Citrus Candle Bowl Arrangement
Brighten up any space with this fresh and vibrant Citrus Candle Bowl Arrangement. It’s a simple yet striking way to incorporate summer's zesty colors into your home!
Supplies List:
- One bread basket (mine is a wire basket from Kirklands, but any oblong-shaped basket will do)
- One white 3x6 in pillar candle
- Four large faux lemons
- Four large faux limes
- Five small faux lemons
- Four small faux limes
*Tip: You can use real fruit for this project if you like! Just remember to check periodically for signs of decay and replace the fruit as needed.
Project Instructions:
1. Place the pillar candle in the middle of the basket.
2. Arrange the lemons and limes around the candle, stacking them as needed.
3. Play around with the arrangement until you get the look you like!
I placed the arrangement on my kitchen table, but it would look fantastic on a fireplace mantle, an entryway table, or even a coffee table. This bowl of vibrant fruit brings a splash of bright summer color to your home!
Decor Project #2: Farmhouse Americana Floral Arrangement
Celebrate summer and patriotism with this charming Farmhouse Americana Floral Arrangement. Perfect for adding a touch of rustic elegance to your summer celebrations!
Supplies List:
- One galvanized tin container (mine is from Dollar Tree, but Walmart has a great selection too!)
- Two boxwood bush picks
- One eucalyptus bush pick
- Three lilac stems
- Three small baby’s breath stems
- Two small American flags
Project Instructions:
1. Start by arranging the bush picks in the container.
2. Add in the flower stems, distributing them evenly.
3. Place the American flags in the back of the container for that nice patriotic touch!
I placed this arrangement on my kitchen window sill, but it would look great outside on a picnic table, too!
Decor Project #3: Mini Coastal Candle Tray
Bring a bit of the beach into your home with this delightful Mini Coastal Candle Tray. It’s a perfect way to evoke seaside serenity and relaxation!
Supplies List:
- One small wood tray
- One bag of white seashells (I used three shells in my tray)
- One bag of sea glass
- One package of tiny glass jars with cork lids (I used one jar, but you can add more if you like!)
- Three white votive candles
Project Instructions:
1. Place the votive candles in the tray first.
2. Carefully pour the sea glass around the candles.
3. Arrange the seashells on top of the sea glass.
4. Add the glass jar. For a fun touch, roll up a tiny piece of paper and put it inside the jar for a note in a bottle!
I placed this tray on a countertop in my bathroom, but it can also go on an entryway table or coffee table. (For fire safety, I added glass votive holders to my candles to prevent hot wax from reaching the wooden tray. Yikes!)
Conclusion:
I hope you enjoyed these 3 Easy Summer DIY Décor Projects. They’re quick to make and bring a splash of summer color and cheer into your home!
Until next time, have a wonderful summer day!
